The simple, step-by-step way to start (or restart) yoga after 50 and keep moving well for years to come.

We begin together Monday, October 5th!

You don't need to be flexible, know the poses, or get in shape before you start yoga.

You just need the right place to begin... with clear guidance, a slower pace, and yoga that meets you where you are today.

If you've been thinking any of this, you're in exactly the right place:

➡️ "I want to try yoga, but I'm worried I'll do something wrong or hurt myself."

➡️ "I've tried yoga before, but I couldn't keep up...and left felt completely defeated."

➡️ "My body doesn't move the way it used to. What if I can't do the poses?"

➡️ “It's been years since I've exercised. I'm worried yoga will be too hard for me.”

➡️ “I know I need to work on my strength, balance, and mobility... I just don't know where to start.”

Here's what I want you to know:

You are not too old, too stiff, or too out of shape to begin.

Yoga isn't something you have to be "good at" before you start. You just need to learn in a way that makes sense for your body, your starting point, and this stage of life.

And that's exactly what we're going to do in Lifelong Yoga Foundations.

Because the right yoga practice shouldn't make you feel like you're failing at yoga. It should help you feel more capable in your body.

Whether you're brand new to yoga or coming back after years away, we'll start with the basics, move at a slower pace, and build from there... so you can learn with confidence instead of constantly wondering whether you're doing it "right."

Yoga after 50 should be about more than learning poses.

The way you move today helps shape how you'll move in the years ahead.

That's why I don't teach yoga poses simply for the sake of doing yoga poses. Every movement we practice has a purpose beyond the mat, helping you build the movement skills that keep you active, capable, and confident in your body as you age.

The 5 Pillars of Movement Longevity are the foundation of everything I teach in Lifelong Yoga, and the framework we'll use throughout your month in Foundations.

JOINT-FREEING MOBILITY

Move with less stiffness and more ease. Your joints are designed to move, and gentle, purposeful movement helps maintain the range of motion you need to keep moving freely as you age.

POSTURE

Stand taller, move better, and feel better in your body. Healthy posture isn’t about holding yourself in one “perfect” position. We’ll build the strength, mobility, and awareness that support a naturally taller, more comfortable posture.

STRENGTH FOR LIFE

Build strength for the life you want to keep living. Slow, intentional movement strengthens your whole body in ways that support staying active and doing the things you love.

FLEXIBILITY & RELEASE

Feel less tight and more free in your body. Gentle stretching and longer holds help gradually release tension and improve flexibility, making movement feel easier and more comfortable.

BALANCE

Balance is a skill, and it gets better with practice. We’ll challenge it in safe, approachable ways to help you stay steady on your feet and reduce your risk of falls.

Together, these 5 pillars create a well-rounded yoga practice designed around what your body needs to keep moving well, not just today, but for years to come.

Everything you need to build your yoga foundation

A month of guided yoga designed to take you from “I don't know where to start” to a well-rounded practice you understand, enjoy, and can actually stick with.

No scrolling through a library wondering what to choose or piecing together random classes on your own. Your first month of yoga is mapped out for you, with a clear path that builds step by step as you go.

Here's a sneak peek of the program calendar so you can see how it's structured:

THE 5 PILLARS, EVERY WEEK

Monday through Friday, each day focuses on one of the 5 Pillars of Movement Longevity: mobility, strength, balance, posture, and flexibility. Each week brings brand-new practices that build on what you've already learned.

YOGA BEYOND MOVEMENT

The weekend gives you space to experience more of what yoga has to offer. On Day 6, we'll explore practices like breathwork, relaxation, mindfulness, and meditation. Day 7 is Yogi's Choice: revisit a favorite practice or choose what your body needs that day.

20 MINUTES A DAY

Most daily practices are around 20 minutes, making it easier to fit yoga into your life and stay consistent. Short, focused practices give you time to move, breathe, and take care of your body without yoga taking over your schedule.

LEARN AS YOU PRACTICE

You won't just follow along. I'll help you understand what you're doing, why it matters, and how to adapt the practice for your body, so you're building knowledge you can carry into your yoga practice for years to come.

Before you begin

I'll help you feel ready before Day 1.

During our Prep Week (the week before the program starts on October 5th), you'll receive short Getting Started videos covering what props you'll need (and simple alternatives you may already have at home), options for sensitive knees, and how to adapt the practice for your body.

You'll also get a printable version of the 4-week program calendar so you can check the classes off as you go. ✅

Plus, get these bonuses when you enroll by Sunday:

BONUS #1: Lifetime Access to the 5-Day Yoga for Beginners Over 50 Challenge

You’ll get lifetime access to all 5 20-minute classes from the Yoga for Beginners Over 50 Challenge, so you can return to these beginner-friendly practices whenever you’d like.

We’ll also use these classes during Prep Week, so you can begin building your routine before the 4-week Foundations program starts on October 5.

FINAL WEEKEND BONUS: Floor Skills for Life Masterclass + Printable Guide

Join Lifelong Yoga Foundations by Sunday night and you'll also receive my brand-new Floor Skills for Life Masterclass + Printable Practice Guide.

In this special class, we'll work on specific yoga poses and movements that build the strength, mobility, and movement skills that support getting down to and back up from the floor with greater ease and confidence.

You'll also receive a printable practice guide with the key poses and exercises from the class, so you can keep it by your mat and easily return to them on your own.

Your new masterclass + guide will be automatically added to your account on Monday, October 12.

We Begin October 5th!

What my students say about Lifelong Yoga

More than a decade of helping women move with strength and confidence as they age

"I had wanted to try yoga for many years and finally did it. I’m 76 years old and learned so much from Mikah that I can do the poses and breathing exercises in my own home. I had a knee replacement a year ago and wasn’t sure I could do the poses. She showed me ways to do it so as not to hurt my knee. Mikah has a soft, soothing voice that actually puts me at ease."

Pat B.

"As a yoga therapist, Mikah has advanced training in helping people with arthritis, joint replacements, osteoporosis, and other barriers to yoga, to actually practice. She can help you achieve your goals like getting on and off the ground to play with your grandkids and preventing falls with better balance."

Christa F.

"Mikah is extremely patient and makes you feel as if you are the only student she has. No judgment and always helpful and upbeat. Can’t say enough positive things about Mikah and her style of teaching."

Rose T.

"I took Mikah's beginner class last September and it was great. I had always wanted to try yoga but since I am not the most flexible or in shape person and I didn’t know how to do the poses, I was too intimidated, but Mikah goes slow and explains everything. Very inviting and not intimidating at all."

Margi C.

"I have just finished a six-week series with Mikah. I am so grateful that I did. What a difference it made in the way I feel. I had back surgery years ago and was taking a lot of pain meds due to the pain. I also had been having trouble with my right knee. The pain was getting so unbearable. After the yoga series, the pain was gone and I'm off meds now."

Donna S.

"Mikah helps you where you are. I have been hip and knee pain free for two years due to her instruction. If you are on the fence about yoga I can assure you walking without pain or medicine is totally wonderful. Thank you, Mikah."

Phyllis R.

"This is the best thing I’ve done for myself in a long while. Although I am regularly active, I sensed that my core and balance had diminished somewhat in the past few years. Mikah’s yoga classes help with core and muscle strength, balance, range of motion and more."

Linda R.

Meet Mikah, your yoga teacher

M.S. in Yoga Therapy, ACE Senior Fitness Specialist

I've spent my entire career working with older adults, including years as a fitness and yoga coordinator at a senior living residence. I'm a certified yoga therapist (M.S., C-IAYT) and a senior fitness specialist, and I'm the founder of Lifelong Yoga Online.

And I'll be honest about why this matters so much to me. While working at the senior residence, I saw two futures side by side. I saw how one injury could change everything, how quickly it could take someone's independence, their confidence, their quality of life. And I saw the women who kept moving, who took care of their bodies, stay strong and steady and capable. That contrast never left me. It's why I do this work.

Because what you do with your body now matters for how you want to live later. And I believe yoga, taught with that bigger picture in mind, is the best way to keep building the strength, mobility, balance, and freedom of movement that help you keep living your life on your terms.

So many of my students come to me after wanting to try yoga for years, only to feel intimidated, overwhelmed, or defeated in a class that moved too quickly or simply wasn't designed with their body in mind.

So I created Lifelong Yoga Foundations the way I believe yoga should be taught at this stage of life: slowly and intentionally, with clear guidance, a purpose behind every movement, and your body at the center.

I'd love to guide you through it.

Two ways to get started:

You can join Lifelong Yoga Foundations on its own, OR you can get it as part of my membership, Lifelong Yoga Online. Either way, you'll get the Foundations program. The only question is whether you'd also like an ongoing place to continue your practice after that first month.

Here's what I want you to know about Lifelong Yoga Online: The Foundations program was originally created to be your first month inside the membership.

You'll start with a clear, step-by-step path to build your foundation. Then, when the month is over, you don't have to wonder, now what? You'll have an entire library of classes and programs designed around the same approach you've already learned: slower, intentional yoga created specifically for healthy aging.

Inside the membership, you'll find 350+ classes, a suggested monthly calendar so you're never guessing what to practice, guided programs to help you work toward specific goals, a monthly live class, and a supportive community practicing right alongside you.

Foundations gives you the place to begin. The Lifelong Yoga membership gives you a place to keep going.

Extensive library of therapeutic yoga classes

Clear, step-by-step instruction for every level, with most classes just 15-30 minutes long so you can easily fit them into your day.

Monthly suggested class calendar

Take the guesswork out of what to practice each day. Simply open your calendar and press play. (This is a member favorite!)

Programs to help you meet your wellness goals

From better balance to core strength, whatever your goal is, you can follow a structured program (so that you can move towards specific results).

See what’s possible with a consistent Lifelong Yoga practice

“I have osteopenia and actually gained almost 3% bone density in my spine.”

“After 20 years of on-and-off yoga, I finally found a practice I could stick with.”

“I feel so much better now, and yoga helps me do everything easier.”

Is Foundations right for you?

This program is for you if:

You're 50+ and you want to start yoga (or start again) with your changing body in mind.
You've tried yoga before but felt lost, overwhelmed, or like the class simply wasn't designed for you. Or maybe you've wanted to try it for years but haven't known where to begin.
You're still active and want to stay that way. You want to keep moving freely, feeling strong, and doing the things you love for a long time.
You're noticing more stiffness, less strength, or changes in your balance than you used to, and you want to do something about it now.
You want to understand what you're doing and why, rather than simply following along and trying to copy a yoga pose.
You want a clear plan to follow. You're ready to practice consistently, but you'd rather have me tell you exactly what to do each day than piece together random classes on your own.
You're happy to move at a slower, more intentional pace. We take our time, I give you clear cues and plenty of options, and the goal isn't to perform impressive poses. It's to help your body move and feel better for years to come.

This is probably NOT the right fit for you if:

You prefer a fast-paced or power-style yoga practice. Foundations moves at a slower, more intentional pace, with clear cues and time to explore each movement rather than quickly flowing from pose to pose.
You prefer personal, individualized guidance. Foundations is a guided program you’ll follow along with at home. (If you need more individualized support, reach out to me about private sessions instead.)
You’re not able to get down to and up off the floor on your own. We’ll spend time on our hands and knees, kneeling, lying down, and moving between the floor and standing. If that’s not possible for you right now, this particular program may not be the best fit yet.
You’re looking for medical treatment or rehabilitation for a specific condition or injury. (This is educational movement, not medical care, and it doesn’t replace your doctor or physical therapist.)

Frequently asked questions

I've never done yoga before. Is Lifelong Yoga Foundations really for beginners?

Yes! Foundations was created specifically to give you a clear, approachable place to begin.

We move at a slower pace, with clear cues and plenty of options, so you have time to learn without feeling like you’re scrambling to keep up. You don’t need to know the poses, understand yoga terminology, or have any previous yoga experience. I’ll guide you step by step from the very beginning.

What if I'm stiff, out of shape, or worried I won't be able to do it?

You do not need to be flexible or “in shape” before you begin. That’s part of what we’re here to work on!

Throughout Foundations, I’ll encourage you to work within a comfortable range of motion and give you options to help you find what works for your body.

That said, this is not a chair-based program. You should be able to get down to and up from the floor independently, and be comfortable spending some time kneeling and on your hands and knees.

I have osteopenia or osteoporosis. Is Foundations safe for me?

Yes. Foundations is designed with bone health in mind, and I teach with osteoporosis-safe movement principles throughout the program.

You'll learn to move with good spinal alignment, and I provide modifications when a movement may not be appropriate for someone with osteoporosis.

If you have severe osteoporosis, a history of vertebral fractures, or have been given specific movement restrictions by your healthcare provider, I recommend checking with them before beginning any new exercise program.

NOTE: If you choose to join the Lifelong Yoga membership, please keep in mind that not every class in the full membership library is designed specifically for osteoporosis. However, your membership also includes access to my Strong Bones, Safe Yoga program, where you’ll learn how to modify your yoga practice and make bone-safe choices when taking other classes.

I've practiced yoga before. Will Foundations be too basic for me?

Not necessarily! Foundational doesn't mean easy, and Foundations isn't simply a course about learning beginner yoga poses.

The program is built around the 5 Pillars of Movement Longevity: mobility, strength, balance, posture, and flexibility. It’s an opportunity to look at your yoga practice through the lens of how you want your body to move and function for years to come.

In fact, I’m encouraging my current Lifelong Yoga members, including those who have practiced with me for years, to go through Foundations with us. Whether yoga is brand new to you or already part of your life, these are foundations worth coming back to.

Are the Foundations classes live or recorded?

The Foundations classes are pre-recorded, so you can practice whenever it works best for you.

We'll begin together on October 5th and move through the program as a group, but you don't have to start that day or practice on a specific schedule. You can pause, rewind, repeat classes, and move through Foundations at a pace that works for you.

Where do I watch the classes? Do I need Zoom or Facebook?

You'll watch your Foundations classes right inside the Lifelong Yoga Online website or app, so you won't need Zoom or Facebook to access the program.

Once you enroll, you'll receive simple instructions for logging in and accessing everything you need.

What if I miss a day or fall behind?

That's okay! We'll begin Foundations together on October 5th and move through the 4 weeks as a group, but you don't have to follow the schedule perfectly.

If you miss a day, simply pick up where you left off. There's no need to double up or try to catch up. And if starting October 5th doesn't work for you, that's okay too. You'll still have access to Foundations and can go through the program on your own schedule.

The group schedule is there to give you structure, support, and a little extra motivation, not pressure.

How long do I have access to Lifelong Yoga Foundations?

If you purchase Foundations on its own, you'll have lifetime access to the complete program, so you can return to the practices whenever you'd like.

If you receive Foundations as part of your Lifelong Yoga membership, you'll have access for as long as your membership remains active.

For this fall session, we begin together on October 5. Your practices will be released according to the 4-week schedule as we move through the program together. (But you can do the classes any time or day that works best for you.)

If I decide to join the Lifelong Yoga membership, what happens when I want to cancel?

I keep it simple. You can cancel your Lifelong Yoga membership anytime, right from your account. There are no contracts or long-term commitments.

You'll continue to have access through the end of your current billing period, and you won't be charged again after that. Because Foundations is included as part of your membership, your access to Foundations will end when your membership access ends.

What happens after I finish Foundations?

Foundations is just the beginning.

Over this month, you'll build the foundation for a well-rounded yoga practice designed to support the way you want to move and feel for years to come. And when the program ends, you don't have to wonder, now what?

Inside Lifelong Yoga, you can keep building on everything you've learned with a monthly class calendar (designed to be your next step after the Foundations program), guided programs, live classes, and more, all designed around the same approach to yoga for healthy aging.

Foundations gives you the place to begin. Lifelong Yoga gives you a place to keep going.

You don't have to be flexible. You don't have to know the poses. You just need a place to begin, and a practice that helps you feel stronger, move more freely, and keep doing what you love.

*All bonuses included. Backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee from the day of purchase.
