Introducing:
Lifelong Yoga Foundations

A guided 6-week yoga series designed to help you build a safe, sustainable practice that will serve you for years to come.

About this series

If you’ve tried yoga before but felt unsure, rushed, or worried about doing it “right,” you’re not alone.

You don't move like you're 30 anymore, and you need a practice designed for the body and the stage of life you're in now.

Lifelong Yoga Foundations teaches you how to practice yoga for healthy aging. Over 6 weeks, we slow things down, revisit essential movements, and build a strong foundation you can trust — guided by a certified yoga therapist who understands how bodies change over time.

By the end of the series, you won’t just know what to do in yoga. You’ll understand how to practice in a way that supports your body and gives you a clear path forward.

How the series works

Weekly Live Class: 6 classes on Mondays at 10am Central Time, starting on February 9th
Class Length: 60 minutes with relaxation at the end
Guidance: Led by Mikah Horn, a certified yoga teacher and ACE Senior Fitness Specialist with a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy
Level: Beginner-friendly and suitable if you’re returning to yoga
Lifetime Access to Replays Available: Perfect for if you can't attend live or want to revisit the practices in the future

This is yoga for life

Each class in the series builds on the one before and weaves in the 5 Lifelong Yoga pillars of movement longevity, so you learn how to practice yoga in a way that supports healthy, vibrant aging.

MOBILITY

Joints are moved through comfortable, accessible ranges to reduce stiffness and restore ease in movement.

STRENGTH

Strength and stability is built in a mindful, joint-friendly way to help you feel steadier and more capable in daily life.

BALANCE

Balance is trained through both static and dynamic poses, helping improve coordination, confidence, and fall prevention.

POSTURE

Posture is addressed through rebalancing movement patterns and developing awareness so everyday movement feels easier.

FLEXIBILITY

Flexibility is approached through longer, supported holds and steady breath, allowing the body to soften with ease rather than forcing range or pushing sensation.

This isn’t “all-levels” yoga that tries to fit everyone. It’s a method designed specifically for beginners 50+, with longevity, joints, and real-life bodies in mind.

Each class includes clear cues, intentional modifications, and guidance from a certified yoga therapist so you feel supported and confident in your body.

This is your bridge to a steady, consistent yoga practice you can return to again and again through the years.

A intentional reset for your yoga practice

If you’ve practiced yoga before, but it never felt quite right, you’re not alone.

As our bodies change, the way we need to practice changes too. Movements that once felt supportive may now feel rushed, unclear, or even uncomfortable. Classes often move too fast. Modifications aren’t explained. And you’re left trying to adapt on your own.

It’s not that yoga doesn't "work." It’s that the approach no longer matches the body you’re in now.

Lifelong Yoga Foundations was created for this exact situation.

This series gives you the space to slow down, rebuild understanding, and reconnect with how your body moves today. Over six weeks, we focus on essential movements, clear cues, and intentional pacing so you can practice with more confidence and less hesitation.

Instead of pushing harder or guessing your way through classes, you learn how to practice in a way that supports your joints, balance, posture, and long-term mobility.

This series is about practicing smarter, with clarity and support, so yoga becomes something you can return to again and again through the years.

What they're saying...

"I had wanted to try yoga for many years and finally did it. I’m 76 years old and learned so much from Mikah that I can do the poses and breathing exercises in my own home. I had a knee replacement a year ago and wasn’t sure I could do the poses. She showed me ways to do it so as not to hurt my knee. Mikah has a soft, soothing voice that actually puts me at ease."

Pat B.

"As a yoga therapist, Mikah has advanced training in helping people with arthritis, joint replacements, osteoporosis, and other barriers to yoga, to actually practice. She can help you achieve your goals like getting on and off the ground to play with your grandkids and preventing falls with better balance."

Christa F.

"Mikah is is extremely patient and makes you feel as if you are the only student she has. No judgment and always helpful and upbeat. Can’t say enough positive things about Mikah and her style of teaching."

Rose T.

"I took Mikah's beginner class last September and it was great. I had always wanted to try yoga but since I am not the most flexible or in shape person and I didn’t know how to do the poses, I was too intimidated, but Mikah goes slow and explains everything. Very inviting and not intimidating at all."

Margi C.

"I have just finished a six-week beginner series with Mikah. I am so grateful that I did. What a difference it made in the way I feel. I had back surgery years ago and was taking a lot of pain meds due to the pain. I also had been having trouble with my right knee. The pain was getting so unbearable. After the yoga series, the pain was gone and I'm off meds now."

Donna S.

"Mikah helps you where you are. I have been hip and knee pain free for two years due to her instruction. If you are on the fence about yoga I can assure you walking without pain or medicine is totally wonderful. Thank you, Mikah."

Phyllis R.

"This is the best thing I’ve done for myself in a long while. Although I am regularly active, I sensed that my core and balance had diminished somewhat in the past few years. Mikah’s yoga classes help with core and muscle strength, balance, range of motion and more."

Linda R.

Meet Mikah, your yoga teacher

M.S. in Yoga Therapy, ACE Senior Fitness Specialist

I’m a yoga therapist and senior fitness specialist, and I teach yoga a little differently.

Many of my students come to me after being told by a doctor or physical therapist that yoga would help... only to feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or even injured in a class that wasn’t designed for their body at this stage of life.

That’s why my work focuses on yoga for healthy, vibrant aging.

I teach yoga therapeutically, which means I think about: Joint health, balance and fall prevention, strength that supports daily life, and posture and long-term mobility.

This series is about helping you experience what intentional, longevity-focused yoga actually feels like, so you can move with more confidence now and for years to come.

Frequently asked questions

What if I'm a complete beginner?

Perfect! Many of our members started with zero yoga experience. This is why I'm offering the 6-week Lifelong Yoga Foundations series. This is your bridge into a regular yoga practice! As a yoga therapist, I've designed the series to introduce basic movements, yoga concepts, and breathing techniques at a gentle pace. You'll never feel rushed or pressured.

Do I have to attend the classes live?

No. While the classes in the Foundations series are taught live, live attendance is 100% optional.

All sessions are recorded, and you’ll have access to the replays so you can practice on your own schedule. Whether you join live or use the recordings, you’ll still get the full benefit of the series and all included materials.

This series is designed to support real life, not add pressure to your calendar.

What if I'm not tech-savvy?

Not a problem. The live classes are hosted on Zoom, and all you need is a computer or tablet. If this feels new or unfamiliar, I'll send you a short, step-by-step tutorial before we begin so you can feel comfortable and prepared.

No tech skills required.

What props or equipment do I need?

You will need a yoga mat, a blanket, a sturdy chair, 2 yoga blocks, and and a yoga strap (or you can use a belt or the tie from a robe). I will give you links for affordable options on Amazon after you enroll. These props will serve you well as your practice evolves through the years.

Will this work if I have physical limitations or can't get down on the floor?

This series is designed to be accessible and adaptable. I’m passionate about making yoga work for real bodies, which is why I offer plenty of modifications throughout each class for things like knee pain, shoulder issues, and other mobility concerns. The yoga adapts to fit you, not the other way around.

That said, most classes do involve getting down to and up from the floor. You should be able to do this independently, even if you take your time and use a chair or wall for support.

If getting up and down from the floor feels challenging right now, I offer a 3-part Up and Down class series included inside the membership to help you build the strength and mobility needed to do this more comfortably, when you feel ready.

If you’re currently unable to get down to the floor safely, I recommend working with a physical therapist first to build that capacity before joining my Lifelong Yoga classes.

Which option should I choose: the membership or the Lifelong Yoga Foundation series?

Both options start with the same Lifelong Yoga Foundations series, so there’s no wrong choice here.

If you’re looking for a focused, guided experience to help you restart or refine your yoga practice, the 6-week Foundations series on its own is a great place to begin.

If you know you're ready to commit to your practice beyond the six weeks, the Lifelong Yoga Online membership is the best value. You’ll get the full Foundations series plus ongoing classes, programs, and a monthly suggested class calendar so you don’t have to figure out what to practice next.

Many people choose the membership so they can use Foundations as their starting point and then continue practicing with structure and support long-term.

If I decide to join the membership, what happens when I want to cancel?

I keep it simple! You can cancel anytime directly in your account – no phone calls or emails required. Just log in to your Dashboard and click "Cancel Membership."

Once you cancel, you'll still have access to all of the classes and programs until the end of your payment period. Please note that there are no refunds for partially used membership periods.

What kind of support will I receive as a Lifelong Yoga member?

You're never alone on this journey. Beyond the structured programs and monthly class calendars, I'm also active in our community forum daily to answer questions, take class requests, and provide tech support when needed. Plus, every class includes clear instruction and modifications for every body.
