Welcome!
Meet Mikah, founder of Lifelong Yoga
CERTIFIED YOGA TEACHER AND YOGA THERAPIST
MS in Yoga Therapy, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500
With more than 2,000 hours of training and a Master of Science degree in Yoga Therapy from Maryland University of Integrative Health, I am certified as a yoga therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Anyone who wants to work towards optimal health & well-being can benefit from doing yoga with me, but I specialize in working with specific symptoms or issues related to:
- Back Pain
- Stress and Anxiety
- Chronic Pain and Fibromyalgia
- Arthritis
- Osteoporosis
- Pelvic health
I have experience working with a wide variety of ages and physical abilities, including years spent working with Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care facilities. I’ve created and implemented a full yoga and fitness program for a senior community of over 400 residents. (My passion for this work is what inspired me to become a yoga therapist.)
My mission is to empower you to age with health, vitality, and joy with yoga. I believe that yoga enhances our physical and mental well-being at every stage of life!
What is Lifelong Yoga?
I often get asked, “What style of yoga do you teach?”
Over my 15+ years of practicing and teaching yoga, I’ve developed my own style and method that I now call “Lifelong Yoga.” It’s a mix of Hatha with longer holds and alignment-based therapeutic yoga.
Every class I teach includes 4 Core Pillars for Optimal Health and Vibrance: Functional movement, alignment, breath awareness, and therapeutic sequencing. I have chosen to share these gentle but strong, breath-centered movement practices because they can benefit so many people in so many ways. (I like to say…it’s gentle, but it’s not easy! Lifelong Yoga is gentle on the body and the joints, but will definitely challenge you.)
Lifelong Yoga classes also have a strong focus on longevity, so each class includes techniques to improve mobility, posture, and balance for fall prevention. The goal is to help you become your strongest, most vibrant, joyful, balanced self.

What I Believe
“If you can breathe, you can do yoga. The rest will come with gentle effort and consistency.”
A sustainable yoga practice adapts to our varying needs depending on our health, lifestyle, age, and energy. It’s not a one-size fits all practice.
We want to challenge ourselves with our yoga practice, but this doesn’t mean pushing past pain. We have to take care of our joints while building strength and improving mobility.
Yoga is often reduced to a form of exercise, but it’s so much more than that. The breath is the bridge from the mind to the body, and if we aren’t slowing down and focusing on the breath, we aren’t doing yoga.
You need consistency over time in your yoga practice to see any kind of real progress. Yoga is a lifelong journey that will serve you in many ways through the years. It’s not a quick fix.
